ICF Level 3 Coach Training for Experienced Coaches

A four-month intensive programme focused on mastery, designed and taught directly by Tony Latimer, MCC BCC.

This programme is designed for experienced coaches with an existing practice who want to deepen how they work, and apply their skills more consistently in real coaching situations.

The pace is deliberate and demanding. Participants are expected to be coaching real clients throughout the programme and to apply the learning week by week.

Who this programme is for

This programme is for coaches who already have an active coaching practise.

Participants are expected to bring real situations with real clients into the programme and to work with the material in live coaching sessions as the programme unfolds.

It is designed for coaches who already know how to coach and who want to sharpen their work at a deeper level, particularly around listening, presence, agreements and impact.

To use the programme for a Level 3 path application to MCC, you must be a current PCC holder. If you do not hold the PCC credential, the training hours can be used in a portfolio application.

What the programme is

This is a 4-month intensive Level 3 programme.

The structure is intentionally focused. Rather than spreading development over a long period of time, the programme is designed for coaches who want to work at depth, quickly, and integrate learning directly into their ongoing client work.

The emphasis is mastery, not coverage. The programme focuses on developing the coach's ability to:
  • Coach at the speed of thought, rather than through analysis
  • Establish a subconscious to subconscious connection with the client
  • Listen and respond from an empty-minded state rather than conscious effort
  • Accelerate depth and movement in sessions through energetic connection

How the learning works

All core teaching on this programme is delivered online, primarily through recorded video.

The participants study the material in advance of the live sessions and can return to it as often as needed while they are practising with clients.

This means live sessions are not used for initial delivery of content. They are used to deepen understanding, work through application, observe coaching in action, and give direct feedback on what is actually happening in the participant's work.

The online material remains available throughout the programme, allowing participants to re-visit specific teaching as issues arise in their coaching week by week. This structure is one of the reasons the programme is able to move quickly and at depth.

Working at the energetic level

Because the conceptual teaching happens through recorded material, live sessions have the space to work at the energetic level in every session. This work focuses on how the coach is listening, how they connect with the client, where their attention is placed, and how presence affects the quality of thinking that emerges in the client. Participants learn to:
  • Notice their internal state while coaching
  • Work effortlessly with presence
  • Understand the energetic impact of interventions
  • Stay present with the client, even when the conversation becomes emotional or uncertain.
  • Listen from an empty-minded state, rather than analysing the session as it happens.
  • Respond from what is emerging in the client, not from prepared questions or models.
  • Use energetic connection to deepen the work and move the session forward.
This is not treated as a separate module. It is developed progressively across the four months with repeated application in real coaching work. Over time, participants deepen their ability to work from this level consistently, not just conceptually.

What makes this programme different

  • This programme only teaches Level 3.
  • There is no Level 1 or Level 2 pathway attached to it, and it is not an extension of earlier certificates or material previously taught.
  • The focus is on mastery. The content is original.
  • The programme includes energetic level work alongside observable coaching performance.
  • All teaching is delivered directly by Tony Latimer. It is not delegated to associate trainers or faculty. Participants work directly with the originator of the material throughout the programme.
Most coach training programmes focus on what can be observed and measured in a coaching session; the questions asked, the structure of the conversation, the behaviours an assessor can see and hear.

That is necessary but not sufficient for the highest levels of mastery.

This programme works at the level from which those behaviours arise.

You can think of this as the difference between a Newtonian view of coaching (focus on technique and cause and effect, primarily using two of the five senses) and a quantum view focused on presence, connection, and the conditions that allow thinking to shift rapidly.

The work is not about performing coaching more skilfully but about changing the level from which the coaching is happening.

From that place, MCC level performance is not forced or an effort. It emerges.

The Practical Details

This is a 4-month programme with a structured weekly rhythm combining recorded online study with live interactive sessions. New paragraph: The design is intentional. Recorded teaching is completed in advance and live sessions are used for application, practise, energetic level work and mentoring.

Live sessions

  • Live sessions run weekly.
  • Each live session is 2.5 hours.
  • Sessions are interactive and include discussion, observed coaching practise, energetic work, and mental coaching.

Across the programme, this totals 48 hours of live interaction.

Online study

In advance of each live session, participants are required to complete recorded online study each week. This includes:
  • Recorded teaching, analysis of coaching demonstrations, self-reflection on application
  • Participants should expect to spend a minimum of two hours per week on this self-study.
  • All recorded materials remain available and can be revisited as participants apply the work in their client coaching.
Across the programme, this totals 36 hours of self-study.

Mentor coaching

The programme includes a total of 10 hours of mentor coaching delivered in line with Level 3 requirements. This consists of:
  • Three one-to-one mentoring sessions, each of one hour
  • Seven hours of group mentor coaching integrated into the live programme sessions

Mentor coaching focuses on real coaching work, observed practise, and feedback grounded in both core competencies and energetic level mastery.

Summary of programme hours

  • Total live interaction hours: 48

  • Total self-study hours: 36

  • Total core competency hours: 84

These hours form the formal ICF Level 3 programme requirements.

Observed coaching and feedback

A core requirement of the programme is that each participant receives feedback on 5 observed coaching sessions.

These observations are best drawn from participant's real client work, not simulations or role-playing sessions.

Some observations take place live during programme sessions; others are based on recordings submitted by the participant for review.

Feedback focuses on how the coach is actually working in practise, including listening, presence, energetic connection, and the impact of interventions as they occur in real sessions.

Participants are required to ensure that they have:
  • Ongoing access to real coaching clients throughout the programme
  • The ability to record at least three coaching sessions with appropriate client consent
  • The commitment to submit recordings for review and feedback
This observation and feedback process is a critical part of developing mastery and is integral to the pace and depth of the programme.

Why this matters.
This work ensures that the learning is grounded in real coaching application and that development is based on what is actually happening in sessions with clients, not on theoretical understanding.

Additional support during and after the programme

In addition to the formal Level 3 programme, participants are granted access to the Simplicity of Mastery - Full Contact Tutorials for a full 6-month period.
This includes:
  • 4 live 90-minute tutorials per month
  • Interaction with long-term Simplicity of Mastery members.
  • Access to over 300 hours of additional material
  • Reinforcement of key concepts
  • Additional support during the four months of the programme
  • Continued access for two months after the programme concludes.
  • Preferential rate for optional ongoing membership.
This free additional support sits outside the 84 core competency hours and is provided to support integration, application, and sustainability of learning, and has a market value of $750 USD.

Application process

The cohorts are small, and this programme is application-only.

The process is simple:
  1. Submit an application
  2. Have a brief conversation with me to confirm fit
  3. Offer and enrolment
